Wednesdays in April are not good when wanting a decent evening meal, very little choice but Friday night much better as everyone was open. Merizzi by the station on the corner of the main road does fantastic good.

We enjoyed wandering around the older parts of town. The cathedral was beautiful and open to view inside. The entire town is walkable, no need to hire a car. There was a variety of places to eat and drink. The location of the train station made it easy to come and go.

Tirano is a very nice town.
Tirano is a very nice town. It is very well connected with other parts of Italy by train. Also, the main attraction is the Bernina Express, which departs hourly from the Swiss Train Station, which is opposite the TrenItalia train station. What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river.
What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river. Fascinating buildings and great food ( had a great pizza at LETI DI PILONI AXEL by the station. Only stayed overnight after coming from Chur on the Bernina line then on to Rome but could easily have spent a week here. Everything walkable.

Lovely town in the valley, surrounded by beautiful wooded mountains. The old town is great and the connection to the Rhaetian Railway and the beautiful Bernina line are not to be missed! A friendly gentleman from the reception of Hotel Bernina took us to the place and showed us our room. We would probably have difficulty finding it ourselves (google maps showed a nearby pizzeria with a similar name). We arrived late but with the hosts we could discuss how to enter the room and he even sent a lot of photos explaining the way. Breakfast was excellent. Bed was very very very comfortable. Rooms only a few steps from the train station. It was very clean. After our journey we returned their restaurant for dinner and it was also excellent. Staff was super friendly. Convenient parking nearby.
